!!Trails in Great Shape!! Here is the report from our many time returning guest, Joan, from July 10 weekend! Having just spent a wonderful weekend at Shadow Lake, I thought that you might like to put a note on your website to let people know that all trails and passes are open and quite accessible.
I think that among the staff and guests this weekend, we covered all the major routes. There is virtually no snow on Arnica/Twin Lakes to Gibbon Pass. I understand Ball Pass had a little snow and that Healy Pass is fine. I personally went up to Whistling Pass and while there is still some deep snow, it is not difficult to get to the top as hikers have packed a trail into the snow.

Story about Shadow Lake Lodge.....
In 1928, the Canadian Pacific Railway began construction of a rest house at Shadow Lake, as shelter for adventurous travelers in seek of backcountry camping experiences. It was sold in 1937 to Jim and Bill Brewster, who had a transportation, accommodation, and outfitting business. In the 1950s, Bill’s grandson, Bud, purchased Shadow Lake Lodge and it became the base for small tour guiding operation by Bud and his wife Annette. In 1990, Parks Canada permitted an expansion, and now there are an additional twelve guest cabins, washroom/shower cabin, and a kitchen/dining cabin. The original 1928 cabin is now a guest lounge.
